D10 JOIN ACTIONS TODAY: Fight for Human Rights

On International Human Rights Day, we must continue the fight to defend human rights and demand justice for all the victims and families of those that have been disappeared, harassed, tortured, falsely arrested, and killed under the Duterte administration! The U.S. supports the violent tactics of Duterte by continuing to fund the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the millions. Malaya Movement and ICHRP US joins the many actions being held in the Philippines and internationally for human rights and call for an end to all U.S. aid to the Philippines!Duterte's Drug War alone has already killed more than 23,000 people. And now, Duterte is demanding an extension of martial law in Mindanao for another year?! Martial law in Mindanao was formally declared on May 30th, 2017 leaving Marawi city in ruins, 356,000+ bombings, and 430,000+ people displaced especially indigenous people from their ancestral lands. Today, Alex Arias, 63, a political prisoner died while in prison, despite Duterte's promises to release 160 sickly and elderly political prisoners earlier in his administration. As the election season has already begun, even more must we monitor and respond to the issues that arise, especially knowing that corruption and human rights violations go hand in hand with elections in the Philippines.

23,000+ People Killed540 Political Prisoners430,000+ People Displaced under Martial Law in MindanaoThe U.S. backed Duterte regime has ruled with an iron fist from day one. As the number of human rights violations continue to rise, we must join the growing movement against Duterte's tyranny and violent fascism and defend genuine democracy for the Philippines. We have a great responsibility to grow the movement here in the U.S., as Filipinos who deeply care about our homeland and want a much brighter future for the Philippines.#Fight4HumanRights#StopTheKillings#FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners#ENDMartialLaw
