Malaya Movement USA supports the resolutions put forth by several House representatives to cooperate with the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) investigations of former president Rodrigo Duterte’s deadly War on Drugs and extrajudicial killings starting from his time as Davao City Mayor. We condemn the Marcos-Duterte administration and its cronies for consistently blocking any attempts to hold dictator Duterte accountable for his crimes against the Filipino people.

Malaya Movement USA stands in solidarity with the thousands of PISTON and MANIBELA jeepney drivers and transport workers who have launched a multi-day strike, ahead of the jeepney phaseout deadline of December 31.

From November 14-17, Marcos Jr. was in San Francisco to participate in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting. This was his 18th trip abroad in just 16 months of office, bringing with him the largest Philippine delegation yet.

Malaya Movement USA opposes Marcos Jr.’s participation in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in San Francisco, where the son of the dictator will further auction off the Philippines to foreign governments and corporations.

Despite this trip being his third to the United States and his 16th outside of the country since June 2022, the promised investments have yet to bear fruit for the Filipino people and has only resulted in more foreign subservience for the Philippines. APEC will be no different in that regard, that’s why we joined Filipinos and thousands of others in the streets of San Francisco on November 12-15.

Our members mobilized alongside over 300 Filipinos in the Filipinos4Palestine contingent as a show of our firm commitment and support for the people of Palestine who are fighting for liberation and sovereignty amidst fascist oppression, violent zionist settler colonial occupation, and genocide.

Malaya Movement USA stands in full defense of our sovereign waters in the Philippines in light of the recent collision between Chinese and Philippine vessels in the Ayungin Shoal on October 21. We condemn China’s incursion and aggression in the West Philippine Sea, and denounce President Biden’s statement invoking the Mutual Defense Treaty(MDT) against China as a result of the incident. The U.S. military’s posturing in this increasingly volatile region puts the Philippines in a dangerous position.
