The Flour Massacre: Stop the genocidal siege in Gaza!

On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Malaya Movement USA joined more than 300 Filipinos across the US in the online launch of the Filipinos For Palestine National network. As we fight for human rights and democracy in our homeland, it is crucial that we stand in solidarity with Palestinians. The following morning, we awoke outraged by news of the Israeli military’s horrific massacre of Palestinians lining up for food aid in Gaza City at 4am on February 29, 2024.

The Flour Massacre saw more than 100 people murdered and more than 750 wounded within 10 minutes. This brutal war crime has now pushed the Palestinian death toll since October 7, 2023 past 30,000.

The intentional starvation of the Palestinian people by the Israeli military and the deliberate targeting of thousands desperately trying to avail of food and humanitarian relief is utterly unconscionable. The Zionist Israeli government is simultaneously committing slow motion mass murder by blocking food aid into Gaza and inducing a crisis of widespread malnutrition and dehydration.

Hours after the massacre, the US blocked a statement at the UN Security Council assigning blame to Israel for this unjustifiable attack on Palestinian civilians. The Biden administration must be held accountable for its inhumane complicity and non-stop support of this genocide of the Palestinian people.

We in the Malaya Movement USA mourn the thousands of martyrs lost to the fascist genocide and occupation in Palestine. We demand that the US government immediately stop sending military aid to Israel. Stop the genocidal siege in Gaza! Permanent ceasefire now!
